Over the years we have organized hundreds and hundreds of custom built trips for our clients, designed specifically for the need, ability and interest of each individual angler. It's what we're best at doing, and we've found it's what people want in planning a fishing trip.
We spend the time up front talking with our anglers about exactly what what they want, what they don't want and what will make their Montana fishing experience amazing for them. We answer questions as well as ask them, and do the legwork necessary to make your trip the best it can be.
New Anglers
We like to build fishing trips to introduce new anglers to the world of fly fishing. Whether it's a group of family members or friends, we can arrange patient, teaching focused guides to lead you through the paces of learning how to cast a flyrod, present a fly to a fish, and hook that fish so you can land it. Every experienced angler was a newbie at one time, and taking the plunge with a great teacher is the way to go in fly fishing. We also love fishing with kids and know what it takes to get them excited about being on the water with you.
Experienced Anglers
We also love to plan trips with experienced anglers who are looking for something specific in their trip; focusing on a chosen hatch on a blue-ribbon river, targeting trophy fish, or fishing remote waters are all on the short list. Montana is a destination of fishing dreams, and we are adept at helping make the fantasy trips come true.
Lodging Package Trips
Helping our anglers find appropriate lodging is a big part of what we do at MFO. There are many, many lodging options here, but they are not all the same and we have the skinny on all the best choices in the areas we fish, from top-shelf hosted lodges to clean, simple fishing cabins. We can package just about any lodging option we find for you for logistical convenience, or we can point you in the right direction and you can organize your own.
Hosted Lodges
A fully hosted fishing lodge is the go to choice of many of our anglers who want the full immersion experience. Fantastic food and rooms, wonderful hosts, swapping stories with other anglers at the bar after fishing - lodge life is unique and fun.
Hotels
A nice hotel room in Bozeman, Helena or Missoula is another great way to go for lodging where you will find more dining options and cultural activities for the non-angler to do. Airport shuttles can save you from having to rent a car since your guide can pick you up each day.
Rental Houses
We arrange lots of river rental houses for our anglers which is an excellent option if you like to cook your own meals, or have a private chef do if for you, which we can arrange. Vacation rental homes vary widely in size, location and quality but we are dialed in on all the choice ones on our home waters.
Traveling Trout Tours
A custom built traveling trip is our most highly focused and personal itinerary. Lodging options will vary, but we will show you around Big Sky Country with wild trout and their waters leading the way.
Corporate Fishing Retreats
Montana is a great place to escape to with your work crew or business clients as well. We can schedule your fishing around meeting/presentation time and make sure you have the right space for it all. Many of our corporate groups like to use hosted lodges like the Missouri River Ranch, where everyone can easily share meals and enjoy the comforts of communal river life.
